This is a Java applet for the guitar player who wants to learn music notes and the guitar fretboard. The aim is to train the ability to identify notes on a music staff and find their place on the fretboard.

When trying to learn the fretboard of the guitar (the neck of the instrument, where you put your left hand fingers) I made the following charts to help me. Click on the images to download them as PDF-files.

The guitar fretboard

The scale modes and the whole scale pattern of the major scale and major and minor pentatonic scale and the blues scale. This is what you need to be able to travel up and down the fretboard of the guitar during improvisation or a solo.
